SFOA is committed to honoring current public health restrictions in response to the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic. We are opening summer camp registration with eternal optimism that we will be able to hold camp as usual in July. However, if current restrictions remain in place as of June 8th, we will move to a virtual platform for camp. Please see our Festival Calendar for more details of payment schedules and policies.
If that difficult decision is made, we will contact all families immediately with full details, and the opportunity to withdraw your registration (with a full refund of your deposit, of course). Please note that our deposit has been lowered to $25 this year.

Enrollment for the 2020 season is limited to 100 participants; admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Popular classes begin filling within a few weeks of registration opening! To secure a spot, please follow these steps:
1- Register online by clicking the registration link! (if you would prefer to receive paper copies of registration materials, please contact our office at 244-3855)
2- Pay at least your $25 deposit. Registration is not complete without your deposit. Even if you plan on applying for a scholarship, you must pay your $25 deposit. This deposit is fully refundable should be have to cancel camp or move to a virtual camp that you do not want to participate in.
3- Check your email for confirmation, and use that email to make any changes you may need to make to your registration.
• All classes/programs meet Monday-Friday (9am - 3pm) for three weeks. We encourage all students to attend the entire three-week program; we do not enroll on a per week basis. Half-day enrollment is available.
• Class schedules are constructed from your indicated choices. We do not guarantee any student will receive all of their first choice selections. Notification of individual student schedules are made by June 20.

Orientation Day gives any students or families who have questions or concerns a chance to connect with SFOA administrators! Don't know your way around MDI High School? Have a question about a class? Need to drop off your bus or lunch order forms? Want to pick up your T-shirt? Just can't wait any longer for a little SFOA?? Orientation Day gives you a chance to do all of this. Additionally, our Registrar will be set up to discuss any schedule concerns. So whether it's your first year or your fifth, feel free to come visit us on Orientation Day!
SFOA offers bus service to and from camp each day, at a fee of $80 for the entire 3-week session (fee adjusted for partial use). Our buses are also used for most field trips within the SFOA day. We are excited to once again be partnering with our friends at Sips Restaurant for lunch catering! This year's menu will be full of delicious and nutritious options. Order every day, or pick the days that work for you!
Regular lunch: $8/day
Adult size portions for hungrier kids: $9/day
Monday: Sandwich: choice of BLT (Mayo on the side), Ham & Cheese, or PB&J (all on 7-grain bread)
Tuesday: Pizza (Pepperoni or Cheese)
Wednesday: Sandwich: choice of BLT (Mayo on the side), Ham & Cheese, or PB&J (all on 7-grain bread)
Thursday: Pizza (Pepperoni or Cheese)
Friday: Sandwich: choice of BLT (Mayo on the side), Ham & Cheese, or PB&J (all on 7-grain bread)
All ordered lunches include chips, veggies w/ ranch dipping sauce, and fresh fruit or dessert.
Additional a la cart items available for purchase during camp.
** In an effort to reduce our waste, we will no longer offer any single-use, disposable drinks for sale or with ordered lunches. Students are encouraged to bring reusable bottles; we will have coolers available for refilling.
Back by popular request, we are again offering optional after-hours care for working families! Open to students of any age, this supervised free time gives students the option to stay at SFOA from 3pm to 5:30pm, for an additional charge of $25 per day or $100/week. Spots are limited and will be filled on a “first come, first served” basis. Please call 244-3855 for more information or to sign up.
SFOA makes every effort to keep our campers safe! To that end, we ask that you fill out the medical release form completely and return with registration forms. Your child does not need a medical exam to attend SFOA, but we do need to know the dates of his or her last immunizations. In case of emergency, our staff nurse will contact the appropriate parents/ guardians immediately, and if for any reason deemed necessary, student will be taken to MDI Hospital in Bar Harbor.
We want potential students to get to know SFOA, so we do allow visitors to attend camp. Either the Executive Director or the Staff and Student Coordinator must approve all visits in advance and all visitors must submit a Behavior Agreement and Medical Release form, signed by a parent or guardian. The visitor must be accompanied by a currently enrolled SFOA student of the same age. No visitors will be accepted on the first day.
