SFOA 2021: JULY 12-30
WITH FINALE PERFORMANCES JULY 31
SFOA is committed to honoring current public health restrictions in response to the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic. We are opening summer camp registration with eternal optimism that we will be able to hold camp as usual in July. Please see our Festival Calendar for more details of payment schedules and policies.
If the difficult decision to cancel in-person camp is made, we will contact all families immediately with full details, and the opportunity to withdraw your registration (with a full refund of your deposit, of course) or transfer your registration to the virtual camp experience.
Please review our COVID protocols on our COVID-19 Protocols page.
Basic tuition for the full three weeks of SFOA is $625 per student. This year we will also be charging a $25 "COVID safety" fee to help us ensure our young artists are staying safe!
IMPORTANT: your spot is not secured without your refundable $75 deposit. Please follow the link on the confirmation page of your registration form to pay your deposit, or click HERE. Deposits are refundable through June 14th.
Scholarships are available; more information and application can be found HERE.

4- All classes/programs meet Monday-Friday (9am - 3pm) for three weeks, July 12 -30, 2021 with a finale performance on July 31, 2021. All students should attend the entire three-week program; we do not enroll on a per week basis. Half-day enrollment is NOT available this year.
5- Students will not select classes this year. All students will participate in visual art programming for half the day and performing art programming for the other half of the day. View this as an opportunity to try new things!
6- A mandatory $25 COVID fee will be added on to each registration for each child.
** Please note! Students entering 9th grade in the fall of 2021 can ONLY apply to be an Apprentice if they have been an SFOA student for at least 3 years. The Apprentice Program is open to any student entering 10th grade **
Apprentices play a vital role at SFOA, and we feel privileged to have you in the program. Those entering the ninth grade will have a two-year apprentice experience, as we feel there is value in extending the observation and mentoring process that being an apprentice is known for. By making a commitment to observe and study different teaching styles, as well as continue your own artistic pursuits, you help create a future staff that truly understands and appreciates the goals of SFOA. Additionally, one of the MOST vital roles an apprentice plays is that of being a ROLE MODEL for the younger campers. Towards that end, we expect that the SFOA apprentice will absolutely follow safe and appropriate practices in their daily camp schedules.
This year, the apprentices will assist with the virtual options being offered. Additional details will be forthcoming. Please send an email to CampDirector@sfoamaine.org if you wish to be considered for the apprentice program.
Saturday, July 10, 2021 3:00 - 4:00 pm, ArtWaves
**OPTIONAL for any/all students and families
Orientation Day gives any students and families who have questions or concerns a chance to connect with SFOA administrators and teachers! Have a questions regarding our set-up and safety? This will be your opportunity to see what this summer camp will be like. So whether it's your first year or your fifth, feel free to come visit us on Orientation Day!
SFOA will NOT offer bus service this year. Parents/guardians will be asked to drop children off between 8:45-9:00am each morning and pick them up by 3:15pm each day. Classes end at 3:00pm.
Lunch & SNACKS
Lunch and snacks must be brought each day by campers. SFOA will have bottled water available throughout the day.
SFOA is NOT offering after-hours care this summer.
SFOA makes every effort to keep our campers safe! To that end, we ask that you fill out the medical release form completely and return with registration forms. Your child does not need a medical exam to attend SFOA, but we do need to know the dates of his or her last immunizations. In case of emergency, our staff nurse will contact the appropriate parents/ guardians immediately, and if for any reason deemed necessary, student will be taken to MDI Hospital in Bar Harbor.
SFOA will NOT allow visitors to attend camp this year.
